Prior to attending PCOM, Treayor worked as a Federal Investigator working on security clearances where he spent most of his time traveling to various military bases in the Carolinas. Treayor also worked on a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) contract with the Mount Yucca Project, helped a number of law firms in the Washington, DC area on various cases, and had an internship working with drug policy at the White House for the Honorable John P. Walters, Drug Czar. He possesses a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University. Prior to transferring to Appalachian State he played varsity lacrosse for Randolph-Macon College, a member of the the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Treayor W. Smith is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and has been awarded a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine
(Dipl. OM) by the National Certification Commission of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Hailing from Northern Virginia, he moved to Wilmington, NC to bring Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Eastern
Nutrition to the Wilmington area. He fell in love with the are when his family moved here in the summer of 2006,
and he decided to start his practice at the beach after receiving his acupuncture degree.
He studied at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in Chicago, Illinois. He was licensed in North
Carolina in 2011 and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Treayor uses various styles of acupuncture. He was trained primarily in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and
uses the balance method, motor point needling, scalp acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, and various others through
his study.
He has done internships in pediatrics, orthopedics, and with HIV patients at Project VIDA in Chicago. He also
participated in the "Great American Smoke-out" giving free auricular acupuncture to people trying to quit smoking.
He has treated a number of athletes including Olympians and world champions.
